System at now
As you have already known, it is necessary to have training with consciousness as well as goal setting in order for learning (acquisition) fundamental/skill and progressing/improving. As the next step, it is a role for a coach to introduce an appropriate system to individuals or entire team.
Now, I would like to explain about some systems used in volleyball.
In general, the following systems are recognized in the volleyball society.read more...

Yesterday I saw a typical scene in difference between at the field of radical sports and traditional one for junior, Soccer and baseball.
They share of a same field; their elementary school. The baseball club coachfs way was mainly scolding or oppressive. They sometimes said, when a player missed somethingh What did you do? What did you think this gameh or gYou could not win the gameh I heard and sawh I could not understand his words, because there was not any explains for their fault. Moreover I was immediately aware of their club did not have a lively communication each other.read more...
Adachi's concept
Before getting concretely into the Adachi style of bases, I wish you to understand that the training for coordination, physical training (conditioning), understanding of those types of training, and goal setting should be connected each other as indispensable elements around the transitional phase from bases to techniques.

Question from Adachi-1
Before considering about "Bases and techniques", please read following questions carefully and answer to yourself.
How do you think of the Bases and the Techniques that are currently emphasized in Japan?
What do Bases and Techniques mean?
Donft you think we should clearly differentiate between Bases and Techniques?
Are you trying to give your players long duration of basic technique drills, copy the systems, tactics, etc used in international competitions, and force to adopt them onto your team?

Situation of Volleyball
Letfs take a look briefly at the womenfs world grand prix running at this time (as of mid-July 2005). Japan won 4 matches and lost 2 matches as of July 3. I would like to analyze this result in my own way.
Firstly, the Spirit (Mental Capabilities) of Japanese players, in other words, their consciousness and motivation has reached enough level to win this championship, because the environment for every match in Japan has reached the world top level, and that is never worse than that in Brazil or in Italy.read more...

The detection from football
Many people still remember about the FIFA Confederations Cup in June 2005 in Germany. We were impressed with the comments of the Japanese national players. They respect not only developing techniques but also raising consciousness by each of them. We sympathize with their way of thinking. The comments have proven their gprofessionalismh that most of them do have. In the football world in Japan, the environment surrounding athletes and coaches has reached gthe professional levelh generating significant difference from other sports including the volleyball society.
The football society in Japan has the environment for learning and coaching their own sport, which has worldwide communications. The information demanded by Japanese coaches are provided through the foreign coaches those belong to the J-League teams, and this system seems to fit into young football athletes. The era in which most coaches had concentrated on only spirit, gut, stimulating that we used to see has been over. The attitude of trying to figure out how to make your own athletes concentrate on training with high level of consciousness should be the critical element to get success in the future on the international stage.

Problem of Asian Volleyball
As indicated above, there are many reasons existing in why none of Asian countries can compete in world level. It is apparent factors for Asian athletes to have power, talented player, professional sprit and the way to play against the height in world competition. In other words, Asian athletes are unable to compete anymore in world competition with only good fundamental skill, techniques and fighting sprit.read more...

Discovery from the gap
After looking back on my coaching, it was a true that I did give all the instructions to the National players and staffs according to and based on my experiences in Japan and USA. However I realized that my instruction or coaching methods was not suitable and appropriate for French education and mentality, which were so different from the ones in USA and Japan. The differences were:
