Failure and resurge

Another occurrence in France after staying in 7 years in USA and 2 years in Switzerland, I was in a totally different position from USA to manage one of the France National teams and two professional teams. It was much heavier roles than USA for me because my position was attached to French Sports Ministry to develop the national sports programs.
Needless to say again, I had communication problems at the beginning so I was forced to attend the French course in Lille University. But looking back upon my learning process of French language, I had better understanding and improvement at Cafe-Tabac Restaurant, where I used to drink some beers with local persons. As I started to be able to communicate with French people, I started also to understand gradually French culture, history, education, mentality and so forth. At the same time, I felt that it would be extremely difficult for Japanese or Asian persons to work professionally in France due to not only communication problems but also so many differences in culture-education-mentality.

In the first two years, I had such unforgettable critics on my way of teaching and coaching, in other words, Japanese way of teaching and coaching or even fundamentals and techniques cannot be accepted or adapted by French players due to the different mentality, education, discipline, and physique. The critics were spread out in all the French regions when my national team could not have positive result at one of the international competitions. After having a negative result, I was called as " Yellow Monkey" who would not be able to do anything for our future. For a while I was so disappointed and shocked by all in France. In USA and Switzerland, I never had such a negative naming or critics. I had positive and respective naming in USA as " Made in Japan" and in Switzerland as "Japanese Watch". This negative naming in France conversely motivated me not to give up and to study and analyze again my coaching contents.
