SHIN-GI-TAI; Spirit (Mental Capabilities), Techniques, and Physical Strength

I would like to refer to gSpirit, Techniques, and Physical Strengthh(SHIN-GI-TAI), which is discussed quite often in the Japanese sporting world, especially in the traditional events called the national sport. Before everything, keeping balance those three items i.e. Spirit, Techniques, and Physical Strength should be our priority, and understanding the interrelationship of them is very critical. Especially regarding the ball game field in Japan, developing techniques (fundamentals) is mainly emphasized; meanwhile, mental capabilities and physical strengthening are not advanced or not taken care at all. In other words, coaches repeatedly give training to their athletes considering only technical and fundamental aspects, neglecting mental and physical aspects, consequently we have been frequently watching the tragedy of athletes suffering burnout syndrome on both their mind and body when they reach a certain age.
